PACS System Administration
Product code: SP-102Description
The PACS System Administration training course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills required to successfully manage and maintain a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) environment. The course covers various aspects of PACS system administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and compliance.
By the end of this course, participants will have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to manage and maintain a PACS system effectively and efficiently. They will be able to apply the best practices in PACS system administration and troubleshooting to ensure system availability, security, and compliance.
NOTE: This is an on-site training. Registrants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and transportation arrangements. Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the training, but registrants are responsible for any meals outside of training hours.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Recall the basic principles of PACS system administration, including system architecture, protocols, and interfaces.
- Apply the best practices for installing and configuring a PACS system, including hardware and software requirements, network topology, and data storage.
- Analyze and troubleshoot common issues that may arise during PACS system operation, such as data corruption, system downtime, and connectivity problems.
- Evaluate the security and compliance aspects of a PACS system, including data privacy, access control, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and implement an effective maintenance plan for a PACS system, including regular backups, software updates, and system optimization.
- Synthesize the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to design and deploy a PACS system that meets specific requirements and constraints.
Format/Class Structure
This is a live, on-site, instructor-led course.
Training Duration
3 days; each day is about 6 hours of training and includes breaks.

Feedback from our Students
"I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who is new to PACS, interested in PACS or is working in the Radiology field and would like expand their knowledge of PACS. I have been working in the medical field for 12+ years, 3 in Radiology, and have attended many training classes and seminars. I would place this seminar in the top 3."
~Jerry Nowak, Hologic MA
"This training has more than met my expectations, a lot of thought has been put into the development of the program and it shows. I would rank this as one of the best training sessions I have attended. From the location to the content and guest speakers, everything was exceptional. Herman has provided a great service to the health care industry by developing these training materials/seminars."
~Lisa Shaffer Busby
"Excellent class, I learned a great deal. This class taught me more than I could have learned in a year on site."
